National Civil Defence Cadet Corps
ABOUT THE CCA
In 2021, our school embarked on a new chapter with the formation of the National Civil Defence Cadet Corps (NCDCC), building on our experiences with St. John Brigade. NCDCC aims to enrich our students’ CCA journey by equipping them with life-saving skills beyond first aid.
At NCDCC, we strive to develop and empower youths to be active, concerned citizens with the skills to respond effectively in emergencies, both locally and globally. Our curriculum fosters civil defence awareness and practical competencies, preparing cadets to be resilient community responders.
Guided by our motto, “We Learn, We Lead, We Serve,” and aligned with Character and Citizenship Education’s core themes—Identity, Relationships, and Choices—the NCDCC journey unfolds in three phases:
-
We Learn: Cadets acquire essential “Triangle of Life” skills, including basic firefighting, first aid, and CPR+AED. These core competencies shape their identity as NCDCC cadets and prepare them to assist themselves and others in times of need.
-
We Lead: Cadets develop leadership, communication, relationship management, and social awareness skills. Through specialized cadet tracks and leadership opportunities, they strengthen both their civil defence capabilities and personal growth.
-
We Serve: Cadets actively contribute to their school and community through initiatives like NCDCC Service Month and Emergency Preparedness Day. With their knowledge and skills, they serve as compassionate Community First Responders, advocating for emergency preparedness and readiness.
